This new blank book I've got is the coolest! I love the cover art. And
there isn't a spine, the stitching is exposed. I think it's called a
coptic stitch. I wish I could do that, but it does look rather complicated.
The paper is heavy. The pages are lined but the lines are pale enough that they
are easily ignored. And, to boot, there is so much space between signatures
that the spine side is actually noticably thicker than the open side. This
means I will be able to tape stuff -- Lots of stuff -- in and the book won't
bulge!
So. I am very excited about this notebook! I started writing in it about
a week ago.
I decided that this was going to be a more visual notebook. I want doodles
in the margins. I want writing that is graphical. I want colors.
And, so far, so good. I make tiny sketches on each page. I write in all
different colors. I got my calligraphy marker out yesterday. And there
are other visual elements in my writing as well.
It's going to be so fun
to page through this notebook when I get farther along!! But right now, I
am shy about it... I was going to scan one of my doodles, and then I looked
at it and decided it wasn't good enough to show the world. sorry, maybe
next time. :)
