Tess the guinea pig was staring at me this morning.

It was still mostly dark, all I could make out was a white face peeking out from under her newspaper tent at the front of their home. Staring right at me. And it was rather disconcerting.

I wonder if she does this every morning. Maybe she thought she was being nice, because she usually yells when she thinks it's time for me to get up.

And, yes, I got up early because of her.

It rained this week, and I've been very much enjoying the cooler temperatures, as well as the bit of humidity.

Tuesday night, around 9pmish. Thunder got me away from my computer to go stand at the glass sliding door. Seeing the wind thrash the trees, and the rain blowing into the porch to pelt against the glass. Watching others go out and play in the rain.

As soon as my mind said, "But not me, I'm staying indoors," another voice said, "What?! Live a little, girl!" and I stepped outside. It was warm, but I was soaked in a couple of minutes. With the wind, I was soon shivering.

1. What time do you wake up on weekday mornings?

My alarm goes off the first time at 5:50. I get up at 6:11 or so.

2. Do you sleep in on the weekends? How late?

I wish. I usually wake up earlier on the weekends! I just get excited, and I don't sleep well on weekends.

oh, and I may get up early. But that does not make me a morning person. I am most grumpy, first thing.

3. Aside from waking up, what is the first thing you do in the morning?

I make my bed first. Always. On week days and on weekends.

4. How long does it take to get ready for your day?

Let's see, I leave the house at 6:37... so approximately 25 minutes. If it were just me, I'd be ready in ten minutes. But I take care of the guinea pigs in the morning (clean their house, food, water, treats), and I've got the outdoor plants that must be watered every day, plus the birds get a seed refill every other day.

5. When possible, what is your favorite place to go for breakfast?

I don't do breakfast.

For August, I would like to start typing here a little more often. I've been doing weekends only for ages, now. What fun is that?

So, I should probably start a list of prompts so that I actually have something to type about during the week...
