The first Grey Day was 1 October 1998. Web sites participate by "greying
out" our front page. We do this to bring attention to copyright and
plagiarism.
The original GreyDay.org web site has gone down, tho you can view the
archive here.
The good news is, someone is keeping Grey Day alive. Please visit
Grey Day 2004.
I have not participated in Grey Day every year, but wanted to this year
for exactly the reason the day was invented. Due to some pretty bad
hotlinking in the past
couple of months, I have been thinking about taking my site down.
