The Books on my Un-read shelf:

  oh! I can't wait to read this, especially since I like Jeffrey Masson's other book, When Elephants Weep.



• A Brief History of Time, Stephen Hawking

• The White Goddess, Robert Graves
  Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, Betty Edwards
  Abstraction in Art and Nature, Nathan Cabot Hale
  The Zen of Seeing, Frederick Franck



• Signed English: A Basic Guide
  American Sign Language Dictionary



• Paint Shop Pro 9
  (yeah, still not installed!)



• A couple of poetry books, which I read in bits



• The Unofficial and Unauthorised Guide to Doctor Who: The Television Companion



• Wolf in Night, Tara K. Harper
  Dragon's Kin, Anne McCaffrey and Todd J. McCaffrey
  Just bought these the other day at B&N... Science fiction books do not stay in my un-read pile for very long! :)



• The Year's Best Science Fiction #20, ed. by Gardner Dozois
  Well, the big fat sci fi books tend to sit for a while.



• O'Reilly's Dynamic HTML

I'm not even going to go into the hundreds of eBooks that I've got waiting for me on my hard drive! :)

And I'm currently reading a whole host of randomness!

I was reading PoemCrazy, but then the impulse buy at B&N was Julia Cameron's The Sound of Paper, so now I'm reading both in little bits.

At work I'm going through Roger Zelazny's Chronicles of Amber. Currently on #8. Every guy I've talked to who has read this set, loves it. They are action based books, which is probably why the gentlemen enjoy them. The story line is exciting, and they are pretty quick reads since you don't want to put them down.

Also making my way through Drawing the Line: Science and the Case for Animal Rights by Steven M. Wise. This is a very interesting book, once you get past the introductory chapters. Wise is proposing that certain animals should qualify for legal personhood (and the rights that go along with that) based on their intelligence, Mirror Self-Recognition tests and other criteria. Good, smart reading!

Also randomly reading Darwin's Origin of Species. Still. For what, four months? haha. And The Year's Best SciFi #19. And a couple of magazines. And sometimes I get out the TreePad User Guide, and the PagePlus User Guide.

Is it any wonder why it takes me months to finish a book? :)
