Well, "a few odds and ends" somehow became a 100$ grocery bill.
One of these days I am going to sit down and figure out what is
costing me so much! Other than the coke, that is. :)
One day, I will perfect my homemade granola bar recipe, but until
that day arrives, I am stuck buying the insanely expensive
organic/vegan granola bars for my breakfast snack at work.
For lunch, I got some chips
and more of the yummy Yves Veggie Slices which
are not turkey flavored because I don't want to eat anything that
tastes like a turkey because turkeys are wonderful people.
For homemade things, I got another jar of yeast and a big
thing of molasses. I searched in vain for some vegan margarine
in stick form... They no longer carry the cool soy margarine, and
I read every single label in the butter aisle: all the margarines
had whey in them, and the one "dairy free" had Vitamin D3. ick.
(D3 is the animal form, D2 is the plant form.)
Have to get marg at the natural food store, I guess.
I got a lot of tomato soups because they were on sale for
60¢/can. It's starting to get cold out and tom soup is a nice
change from ramen. Also got some apple cider dry mix!
Tegan the guinea pig got some tangerines. She has been
totally spoiled, the last couple of months she's been eating tangelos,
and now this! She'll probably turn her nose up when I have to buy
regular oranges again.
Amy's soy cheese pizza and some Morning Star crumbles
to top it. Some frozen green beans.
Soap for the house... I really like the Clearly Natural brand!
It's vegan!
My special treat this time is a spaghetti squash. I'm a
little intimidated... I don't cook, and I've never attempted a squash
before. But I've been wanting squash, lately, so I'm going to give
it a go!
