The day job was a bit more annoying than usual, this week. And I've not let myself sleep as much as I need too. And I've had more than my fair share of Advil, lately. And, and, and.

But it's friday evening and it's time to put all that behind me. I'm going to hang out, have a couple drinks and type up a list of good things so I can start a great weekend!

∞  In the past couple of weeks, Amnesty International has sent me Three! "Stop Action" updates:

Saudi "Day of Rage" Protester Released (UA 59-12)
Anti-slavery Activists in Mauritania Released (UA 127-12)
Indian Teenager Released (UA 210-12)

I wrote letters of protest in each of these cases, and it is wonderful to know that I contributed to these results!

∞  My new favorite author released a new book this week! At The Mouth of the River of Bees by Kij Johnson

Some of the stories in the book are on her web site, and you can read them for free... Kij Johnson "Ponies" is one of the most disturbing stories I've ever read. And "The Cat Who Walked" is typical of her animal fiction, brilliant and amazing story telling.

∞  New Markers. Yeah, I know: I'm crazy. But new art supplies make me happy.
