7 November 2000 ... Don't Understand
Things Cheri does not understand:
- Tax Forms
shudder. I let my tax consultant deal with those. Probably a good thing,
too. I can see myself writing curse words in all the blanks and "What
have you ever done for me, that I have to pay you all this money for??"
heh.
- Insurance
Health insurance. You have to pay these people (a lot) every month. But
then, when you go to the doctor, you still have to pay some more. It's
just silly. Just hope that you get some expensive disease so that you can
get your money's worth out of them.
Life insurance. Everyone dies, right? So they have to pay everyone
the $10,000 or $100,000 or whatever that they signed up for, right?
It just doesn't sound like a very good business to me.
And Car insurance. No personal experience. But I have to sign up for
a new policy in the next couple of days, and I'm sure it will be
confusing as hell.
- Politics
What's to understand? A bunch of idiots, lying to each other. Whatever.
I don't vote. I can't be bothered to learn about what these people may
or may not do once they get to be president.
I think that means I have a lot of trust that a decent person will get
elected, and decent laws get passed.
